Leaders face tough opponents in Chess

Round 3 of the 2015 Under-20 Chess Championship saw tournament leaders battling in long complex games at the FASANOC Headquarters in Suva.

The highlight of the round was the much anticipated match-up between leaders Zen Borg and Menash Fareed. Borg obtained a pleasant position out of the opening, and was pressing for the full point. Fareed however defended accurately, and the match ended in a draw.

On other top boards, Tianata Terubea defeated Cydel Terubea, while Keez Terubea overcame Quinton Sukhu to jointly lead the table.

Round 4 sees leaders clashing again to take out the top prize, with cousins Keez and Tianata paired at the top board.

Borg faces young Rudr Prasad, and Fareed takes on Cydel Terubea.
