The Lautoka football side has set a target of playing in the semi-final of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants, which gets underway in Ba on Friday.
The Blues have not won the tournament since 1985 and also been in the doldrums lately with their performance in the league not up to par.
Lautoka football president, Sanjay Prasad, says they will enter the tournament as the underdogs.
“We are a very young team and we have got Lautoka boys playing for the team and we are in the building stage. For this BOG, we will do our best and no pool is easy and we will try and make semi-finals and that’s our aim for this tournament.”
Lautoka plays Navua in its first match at 5.30pm on Friday.
In other matches, Labasa takes on Rewa at 1pm, followed by Suva battling Nadroga at 3pm, while Ba and Nadi meet at 7.30pm.
