Lautoka hopes to defend IDC title

October 4, 2018 4:03 am

The Lautoka football side is aware of the task ahead as they set their sights on defending the Courts Inter District Championship title this year.

Lautoka is pooled with Labasa, Ba and Nasinu in the IDC which kicks off at ANZ Stadium in Suva tomorrow.

Coach Kamal Swamy says they will not take any teams lightly and will give their best shot in the pool matches.

“Through-out the season all the teams have been gunning to beat Lautoka. Labasa has been the only successful team while some teams came up with draw so that means they are coming closer.”

Lautoka has played in 26 finals and has won 17 of it with the first one being in 1941 when they defeated Ba 2-1 at Govind Park.

They face Ba in its first match at 8pm tomorrow.
