Lautoka football maintains winning streak

The Lautoka football side claimed its second win in the Vodafone Premier League, defeating Rewa 2-nil at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Rewa’s Vuniuci Tikomaimereke scored an own goal after deflecting Lautoka import and Solomon Islands striker, Benjamin Totori shot into the Rewa goalmouth.

Blues veteran mid-fielder Zibraaz Sahib scored the second goal in the second spell of the game.

Totori says he has been with the team for more than two weeks has and mixed up well with the local players’ part of the Lautoka side.

_“I’m gelling in well with the boys well with the team and the understanding is there. The boys are good like they are all good lads and we make jokes together, we have fun together and I pretty much feel like home when I came here so if you feel home your football is going to be good.” _

Former Labasa mid-fielder Amani Makoe featured for Rewa and was shown a red card in the second half of the match.

Meanwhile, Nadi, after beating Labasa 2-1 and thumping Dreketi 6-nil tops the VPL table with ten points.

Lautoka is on second with six points, Suva sits on third with three points while Rewa has one point and Labasa, Dreketi, Ba and Tavua remain winless.
