Lautoka football faces ground issues

August 13, 2014 12:01 am

The Lautoka football team says they will have to work extra hard to progress from its pool at the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants.

The Blues are grouped with Navua, Suva and Nadroga in Pool A for the tournament, which kicks off next Friday at Govind Park in Ba.

Lautoka football coach, Lambert Sarju, says the team is not able to train properly as the available grounds are unsuitable for training.

“Our turf is very hard. I could say as there is hardly any grass and the players have started to feel the pain in their legs and the muscles and we have given them a bit of recovery. Well we cannot say this pool is easy as many people are saying that this pool is easy. You can see the last round of the leagues games and the upsets created by Navua and Nadroga means we are in the hard pool."

Meanwhile, on the first day on August 22, you can catch the live commentaries of the Labasa-Rewa clash at 1pm, followed the Suva-Nadroga game at 3pm and the Ba-Nadi clash at 7.30pm, on Radio Fiji 2, with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
