Australian rugby legend, Stephen Larkham has hailed Flying Fijians flyhalf, Ben Volavola as a dangerous player ahead of the team’s World Cup opening match against England this weekend.

Like many others, Larkham was surprised by coach John McKee’s decision to name Volavola ahead of the experienced Josh Matavesi in the number 10 jersey.

Larkham, who won the Webb Ellis Trophy for Australia in 1999, says he is impressed by Volavola’s passing and kicking game and believes he will excel in the national side.

Cooper says he has played against Volavola several times in the Super Rugby competition and will be keeping a close eye on the young flyhalf in Fiji’s opening World Cup match against the hosts.

The Flying Fijians will take on England at 7am on Saturday and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
