Hundreds of people turned up at Nadi International Airport this morning to welcome the Vodafone Flying Fijians back from the Rugby World Cup.

While majority of the players returned to their various clubs in Europe, a handful made the journey back to the country such as Nemani Nadolo, Ben Volavola, Leone Nakarawa, Henry Seniloli, Malakai Ravulo, Peni Ravai and Leeroy Atalifo together with the entire coaching staff.

In welcoming the squad, Fiji Rugby Union CEO, Radrodro Tabualevu re-affirmed Rugby House’s intentions to keep John Mckee as coach, dismissing media speculation of a switch offshore.

“Fiji Rugby Union has a contract in place with Mr. John McKee, signed last year and it goes for four years. That’s in keeping with the sort of thinking that’s now prevailing or something to happen in Fiji Rugby Union for us to have a long term view of things.”

Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou was also on hand to welcome the players in Nadi.
