Lami confident to win Senior Division

October 8, 2018 6:12 pm

The Lami football side hopes to end a seven-year-old drought in the Senior Division of the Courts Inter District Championship at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Lami last won the IDC title in 2011 when they defeated Tailevu Naitasiri 3-1 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Lami football captain Asis Chand says they are aware of the history and will first have to overcome Nadroga in the semifinal today.

“Actual part we need to improve on is only the scoring part because we are lacking in scoring as we have missed about twenty to thirty goals coming into this three game.”

The Lami side faces Nadroga at 1pm at the Fiji FA Academy ground today while in the first semifinal Navua plays Tailevu Naitasiri at 11am.

In the Premier Division semi-finals, Lautoka plays Nadi at 4.30pm while Labasa meets Suva at 7pm at ANZ Stadium in Suva tonight.
