The Lami Women’s football team is confident of a good outing at this week’s Fiji FA Inter District Championship in Ba.
Team Director Immanuel Manu says they have a young developing squad who will be out to do wonders over the three-day tournament.
“We have been training the team for some time now. They did not do well in the league due to players, students and ground problems. Now Charlie Rodgers, the former player for Tailevu Naitasiri is coaching the team. He is doing really well. Our aim is to develop players and we are developing the under 18’s mostly now. I’ve taken out the older players so now we have this youngsters and I am a hundred percent sure they will do better than what they were doing before’’.
Lami takes on Nasinu in its first pool match at 1.45pm on Saturday at Govind Park.
The tournament starts on Friday with the finals to be played on Sunday.
