Vodafone Fiji under 17 football Academy coach, Shalen Lal has assured an improved performance by this team at next year’s OFC playoffs.
Lal says that with the team being in camp for a year, it puts pressure on them to deliver.
“The previous year’s that we played in, we only had two to three months preparation time and then we went into the playoffs. For the first time Fiji has brought in these boys for a whole year. It puts a bit of pressure on us as we have been given more time to prepare. I think results will count in the end and of course you will see a different standard of football displayed by this team.”
Fiji has been drawn in a tough pool which has New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Samoa.
The OFC under 17 Championships will be held from the 11th to 24th of February in Tahiti.
