The Labasa football side has booked its place into the final of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT after defeating Nadi 2-0 in the first semi-final at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Ilisoni Logaivou was the star of the match as he put Labasa into 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of play.
Logaivou then scored a double in the 50th minute of the second half to seal their victory.
Coach Anand Sami says they started the match on a slow pace and he had make a few changes in the second spell.
“The first 15-20 minutes the players played the soccer which I didn’t want them to play and Nadi was up in the first 20 minutes. Half time I had to do some changes and I found out where was the problem and we rectified that problem and they played very well in the second half.”
Captain Taniela Waqa thanked his players for playing as a team.
“We came here knowing Nadi is going to be tough. Our coach told us everything we need to do on the field and we did it. I salute my team mates.”
Meanwhile, Rewa is currently playing Lautoka in the second semi-final.
