The Labasa football side is through to next week’s semi-finals after an impressive 4-nil win over Rakiraki at the Inkk Mobile battle of the Giants tournament today.

The Babasiga Lions came out strong and a hatrick to Christopher Wasasala and another goal to Jonetani Buksh saw the home team leading 4-nil at the break.

Labasa did get numerous opportunities in the second spell but failed to add to their score line.

Coach, Gurjit Singh was impressed with the win and says they will now turn their focus to tomorrow’s game against Nadi.

”We are really happy that we have made it to the semi-finals.It was a good win. We could have scored more goals but that didn’t happen but we’re happy with the three points. Six points from two games, this is what we wanted and now we will get ready for Nadi.”

Labasa has six points and is the first team through to the last four.

Nadi has four points and a draw for them will be enough to see them qualify.

Suva will need to win at least by three clear goals against Rakiraki and hope Nadi loses to Labasa.
