Melbourne Storm rugby league sensation, Marika Koroibete commends the number of local players showing interest in the sport at professional level.

The 23-year old was nominated for Daily M Winger of the Year this season for scoring 16 tries.

Koroibete says he wants to see as many local players as possible further pursue a career in rugby league overseas, especially in the NRL competition.

“From the school boys coming up to Australia to get a contract, which is good. It promotes a lot of things about Fiji to the NRL and there’s a lot of super Fijians getting it good out there like Semi Radradra in the wings.”

Koroibete was present at the Fiji International welcome dinner at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa in Sigatoka last night.
