Vodafone Fiji sevens rugby skipper Osea Kolinisau says the performance of the national team at the recent Pacific Games has made the build-up the new season interesting.

Fiji won gold in the Pacific Games beating Samoa 33-7 and coach Ben Ryan had fielded a number of his second string players in the tournament.

Kolinisau says the depth of players in Fiji is a bonus.

“It was a really good performance. The goal was to win gold at the Pacific Games and they won gold and the new boys stepped up and it will make it really tough for Ben Ryan to choose the team for the next leg and the coming Olympics.”

The 2015/2016 Series gets underway in December.
