Kids to be involved in club games

Delana’s win has inspired many and this has prompted the Fiji Basketball Association to move their game level up a notch.

Fiji Basketball Association secretary Ned Taito says since kids are involved in the sport, they have to play club games to improve their skills.

”You notice, in the grades there is a two year lapse between each level and this is to allow us to develop the players to play within their own pool.
We’re looking to have a Marist association for age group tournaments and this is to allow children who don’t play in the clubs to play within the age group and they have competition on regular basis”

He adds through this they are able to lift the level of basketball in the country and someday Fiji will produce talents like Lebron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant.
