Former All Black sevens player Rocky Khan hopes that his story of being the first player of Indian and Rotuman descent to represent New Zealand 7s will help break barriers.

Khan says it was always his goal to make it into the All Black 7s team and is advising youths to step out of their comfort zones to make a name for themselves.

“And I had a real dream or vision that if I could do that hopefully I will open up the door for other Indians and Rotumans to go out there and chase that dream if they really wanted it to happen.”

Khan is in the country and was invited to participate in the rugby themed “Diversity in Sports” event hosted by USP yesterday.
