The Kadavu district were crowned the overall winners of the Primary School Central Netball Championships, yesterday evening at the National Netball Centre in Suva.

Kadavu had 5 teams in the finals with their under 9 and under 14 teams taking out top honors.

The under 9 Kadavu Black Ferns piped Nasinu Red 7-6 in the final while their under-14 fought off Suva Gold in a tough final 12-11 to win their second title.

Three Girls from the Kadavu teams also walked away with the best player’s award for the performance during the major finals.

Talei Lesumailepanoni the goal attack for Kadavu was awarded the best player of the under-12 grade while Merelita Tuivaturogo the Gold keeper for Kadavu under-13 team was the best player in her grade. And in the under-14 inspirational Kadavu Center Elenoa Tabaki was the best player in the under-14.

In the other finals results Nasinu Red took out the under-10 grade beating Suva Sapphire 11-5.

In the under-11 grade Suva Diamond thumped Kadavu 18-7, while Nasinu Reds took out the under 12 grade beating Kadavu 19-11.

And in the under 13 Suva Sapphire beat arch rivals Kadavu 14-9.
