The Kadavu district made a huge statement yesterday at the first day of the Primary School Central Netball Championships, as its eight teams dominated the competition.

Their under 14 team created the biggest upset yesterday beating Suva 9-8
Their under 10, 12 also recorded wins against heir Suva opponents in their opening matches.

Kadavu’s contingent manager Kelera Yanituni says they are not in the tournament to make up the numbers but to win the competition.

“We came all the way from Kadavu not just to let the girls participate but to win the competition.”

The Central champions will continue today at the National Netball Centre with the remaining pool games starting at 8:45am while the finals begin at 12:30pm till 4:30pm.
