John Wesley starts defence with a win

Defending boys Under-19 grade champions, John Wesley College has started its campaign at the 2015 Tuckers Ice Cream Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championships on a high.

The side beat Swami Vivekanada 30-6 in its first match.

Girls Under-19 champs, Yat Sen High, also won its first game, thumping SVC 36-5.

In the girls U17, reigning champions, Saint Josephs won its opening game, beating Jasper, 28-26 and 2014 boys’ winners, Marist Brothers lost 30-21 to Queen Victoria.

Suva Grammar, which is the defending champions in the Under-15 girls grade, won by default over Jasper.

In the boys grade, LDS is on track for its title defence with a 23-16 win over YSS.
