John Wesley qualifies for semis

The final round of the Fiji Secondary Schools cricket competition was played at Albert Park in Suva on Monday.

Cricket Fiji Development Manager and competition coordinator, Joe Rika says the John Wesley College had an outstanding performance with a number of experienced players and current national reps.

However, Kalabu School was also a team to be remembered during competition.

“Kalabu Fijians Niko Taleimaitoga and Penijamini Suka were stand outs and there was a young girl who also took part Tema who took part today and showed good signs of being a real good prospect of the future women’s cricket”.

John Wesley College batted first and were 5 down for 106 after 15 overs while Kalabu Secondary batted second and were all out for 14 in 10 overs.

The first semi-final will be played between John Wesley and International secondary while, Kalabu Fijian school 1 will take on Marist Brothers in the second semis.
