Former rugby league star and Vodafone Fiji 7s player, Jarryd Hayne has confirmed on social media, that he has been dropped from the Fiji 7s squad.

Hayne wrote on his Facebook page, last Friday he had a meeting with Ryan to discuss his future with the team and he was informed that his time has ended. As much as he would have loved to go to Rio, he too knew he wasn’t ready yet.

Hayne says for now, he will be in camp with the team until mid-week before heading back home to Sydney for some time out and will then determine on his next steps from there.

Meanwhile, Fiji Rugby Union is yet to release an official statement on the squad that is believed to have been trimmed by Coach Ben Ryan.

Ryan names the final 13 member squad later in the week.
