The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians side has lost its first test match in the autumn tour, going down to Italy by 19-10 in Catania this morning.
The side were locked at 10 all at the interval.
Both sides scored a try apiece although Fiji conceded too many penalties in the second half which paved the way to victory for their hosts.
Italy took an early lead courtesy of a Carlo Canna penalty in the fifth minute.
In the 21st minute, Fiji drew level via a Ben Volavola’s penalty.
Fiji’s try by Josua Tuisova was denied but its was Leone Nakarawa who burst through a tackle to score the Fijians first try.
Volavola added the extras and both sides were deadlocked at 10-10 at the interval.
Italy came more stronger in the second half, and piled points while Fiji suffered a major blow after Volavola was shown the yellow card.
Italy taking its revenge over Fiji, beating them 19-10 at home.
Meanwhile, Fiji now prepares to face Ireland next weekend.
In the other results, Scotland thumped Samoa by 44-38 and England defeated Argentina by 21-8.
