Fiji Pearls mid-court player, Alesi Waqa Paul believes getting into the final team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games requires extra hard work.

Paul says competition among the players especially the newbies are intense.

“To vye for our position is very competitive and I need to work extra hard as there are many young players in the squad who are also eying for a place in the final team.”

Paul comes from a sporting background where her brother Emori had also worn the national jumper in 7s and her cousin is the former Flying Fijians speedster Sireli Bobo.

The Fiji Pearls side will be on court training whole of this week at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
