October 6, 2014 4:29 am

The Vodafone Fiji sevens team has been dealt with a double blow with two
players in doubt for the Gold Coast tournament, which starts on Saturday.

Half backs, Emosi Mulevoro and Eminoni Nasilasila, are carrying injuries, which coach Ben Ryan says is a concern.

Mulevoro has a foot injury, while Nasilasila is yet to recover from a concussion suffered during training.

Ryan has already started looking at replacements, with a final decision to be made tonight.

“Jerry Tuwai and Vatemo Ravouvou are on standby. I actually kept back Jerry from flying back with the Oceania team to Nadi yesterday. He is here making up 13, I think we will make a call later today it will be extremely tough on those two players but I think you will appreciate the fact that we need 12 players who will start the tournament 100 percent fit.”

Fiji opens its campaign at the Gold Cost meet against Scotland at 2pm, before meeting Portugal at 5.23pm.

The last pool match is against Australia at 9.01pm.
