Huge task for Flying Fijians ahead

The Flying Fijians still have a huge mountain to climb before the World Cup kicks off in September.

This was the sentiment of Flying Fijians Coach John MCkee after his side broke their 62-year victory drought against the Maori All Blacks in Suva yesterday.

He says Fiji’s win over the Maori All Blacks is a striving start to the 2019 World Cup preparations

We are starting to build a really strong team, this is going to be important in our rugby world cup campaign. We have developed some real competition for opposition and we work forward as a team and it’s going to be difficult to make a final selection for rugby world cup

McKee says under the captaincy of Dominiko Waqaniburotu – there were good communication channels between players – boosting their performance.

Waqaniburotu says the boys are now looking forward to the rest of the Pacific Test Series.

They deserve to celebrate today, on that note as well we have got to keep in mind that this is our first game out of the 6 towards the World cup and the boys know that, the boys are happy.

The Flying Fijians will now travel to Rotorua in New Zealand to take on the Maori All Blacks in their last Pacific Series Test match next Saturday.
