Local rugby fans could get a chance to see Fiji-born Wallabies winger, Henry Speight live in action in the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s in Sigatoka next year.

This comes after the Australia men’s and women’s sides confirmed their participation in the tournament.

Speight, who featured in the recent Rugby World Cup, is a possible inclusion, having signalled his desire for the Rio Olympic Games.

Australia 7s captain, Ed Jenkins, says playing at Lawaqa Park against some of the toughest sevens players in the world will help the side’s preparations for the inaugural Sydney 7s, the rest of the World Series as well as Rio.

Jenkins is expecting stiff competition from local teams such as defending champions, Police, Yamacia and Wardens.

Overseas teams confirmed for the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s in the men’s and women’s division include those from New Zealand, Germany, Samoa, Tonga and the USA.

The tournament runs from January 14th -16th at Lawaqa Park.

Meanwhile, Speight will make his Australian 7s debut in the Dubai and Cape Town 7s tournaments, after being selected in the 12-member squad.
