A fine win in Australia yesterday has resulted in big celebrations for the Digicel Fiji 7s team by fellow Fijians living in Brisbane.
Assistant coach, Timoci Wainiqolo says they’ve received overwhelming support from fans and are doing all they can before returning home on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, player of the tournament and leading point scorer in the series, Joji Ragamate says all praise for winning the Gold Coast 7s goes out to the new players.
“I was shocked to hear that I was awarded the best player and I thank the Lord for it all and the team. The new players pulled up their socks and while New Zealand also had new players, rugby is an old game and everyone can play it and I just take my hat off to the players for a job well done.”
Selections for Dubai next month will begin with a fitness test next Wednesday.
