Staff of Seamech, a company which deals in engineering and hydraulic equipment’s and parts, today collected more than $700 for the “Road to Rio Campaign” for the Vodafone Fiji 7’s team.
Based in Walubay, Suva, each of the 38 staff members contributed towards the campaign.
Company Manager Shayne Brodie says this in an initiative to help Fiji win their first Gold medal at the Olympic Games.
“We thought it was a great idea. A lot of them have bought clothes or bought something just to wear today. There is a price for best dressed to encourage all the boys.”
Brodie added that they chose today for the collection as this becomes a great build up for the Sydney 7’s which starts tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji 7’s side will face Samoa in the opening match of the Sydney 7s at 12pm tomorrow followed by the clash against France at 3:18pm.
Fiji’s last pool game is against Argentina at 7:21pm.
