More than five hundred local athletes assembled at the Fiji Athletes Forum at Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva today.
Fiji Chef de Mission Patrick Bower says the assembly simply to prepare the team to meet the expectation of the country in the 2019 Pacific Games.
Bower says these athletes were briefed on the importance of teamwork as they prepare for the Games.
“Technically, the team needs to know that they are going as a team. Logistics of getting Fiji to Samoa is one of the things that they need to know about, BUT more importantly we would like them to have an overview of where they’re up to, what they intend to do between now and Samoa, and what they are going to do when we get to Samoa.”
