Good turnout at boxing trials

April 18, 2015 12:51 am

A good turnout was recorded at the Fiji Amateur Boxing Association Pacific Games trials in Suva last night.

FABA president Manasa Baravilala says he did not expect a record number of boxers to turn up and fight for a spot in the national team to Papua New Guinea.

“The turnout has been very encouraging. We expected about 15 bouts but we ended up with 22 bouts. So it’s a very good turnout, there’s a lot of fans out there and we’re very pleased that the people have come out to support the trials.”
