German midfielder Mario Goetze was the toast of his side after thumping in the winning goal to secure a 1-0 victory over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final.
Andre Shurlle made a break down the left flank in the 113th minute and delivered a fine cross which found Goetze unmarked in the box.
Goetze volleyed in the goal past Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero to clinch Germany’s fourth World Cup title.
