Gamel expresses disappointment

November 30, 2017 4:00 pm

Vodafone Fiji Football coach, Christophe Gamel, expressed his disappointment on certain district as they failed to provide feedback after coming back from the recent Pacific Cup in New Zealand.

Gamel says he had to allow them to recover because most of their players played in the Pacific Cup and some arrived injured.

“No district has given me feedback so as usual I face these kinds of problems because nobody wants to help the national team.”

However, he says he will work what he has as the Bula Boys will face Tuvalu in their opening match on Saturday.

Vodafone Fiji football coach Christophe Gamel has expressed his disappointment on the attitude to some players in the national camp.

Gamel says, while things are rolling well in camp, there are some players who are letting him down.

“Some of them yes. It’s not enough at all. As I said, the camp is going well, that’s not the problem, and the quality is not there, not enough. I have to work more, find ways to tackle the 80th placed Estonia. IT is going to be a hard game. We have seen all their games. They are very good.”

The national side plays Estonia at 3pm on Sunday week at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.

Gamel expresses disappointment

Vodafone Fiji football coach Christophe Gamel, has expressed his sheer disappointment on players who do not abide by simple rules.

Gamel’s concerns come days after some key players failed to turn up to national camp for two crucial international friendlies.

“I had to take some sanctions which I will have to if the players do not turn up on time at training and others. It clearly tells me that you don’t need to be in national team and you don’t deserve to represent the country.”

Former captain, Amani Makoe was dropped from the squad after reaching camp two days after the required date.

Fiji plays Kyrgyzstan on the 10th of next month after which we host Estonia on the 19th at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
