French Top 14 defending champion Clermont’s vice president Jean-Marc Lhermet will take the Top 14 silverware to Lawaqa Park today as an acknowledgement to the people of Fiji for breeding four of their players that contributed to their win.
Lhermet says Clermont rugby owes Fijian people a lot especially winning the trophy last season.
“For us bringing the trophy to Fiji is an honour because it’s part of our victory and the families and friends of the Fijian players in our team have the time to touch the silverware.”
French living in Fiji had the opportunity yesterday to hold the prestigious Brennus Shield at the France Ambassador’s residence in Suva.
Meanwhile, more than 300 Fijians are playing in France whereas a few are part of the Top 14 competition.
