France have become the first side through to the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, defeating Uruguay in an ultimately comfortable 2-nil victory this morning.

However, Kylian Mbappe, the star of France’s last 16 win over Argentina, had the first chance of the match but seemed unaware of the acres of space around him in the box and rushed a poorly executed header.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, at 2am Sweden plays England while Russia faces Croatia four hours later.

The winner of these matches will face each other in the second semi-final.

The semifinals will be played next Wednesday and the final is scheduled for 16th of this month at 3am.
