Four more qualify for London Olympics

Fiji swimmers, Douglas Miller, Matelita Buadromo and weightlifters, Manueli Tulo and Maria Liku are the latest inclusions to Team Fiji for the London Olympics.

Team Fiji chef de mission, Chris Yee says the quartet made the cut through the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Universality qualification process.

“The universality place is for athletes who do not qualify for the times that are set but they are given a place to represent the country and Fiji has two places, for a male and a female.”

Team Fiji now has nine athletes confirmed which include, Robert Elder (archery), Glen Kable (shooting), Leslie Copeland (javelin), Josateki Naulu (judo) and Iliesa Delana (Paralympics).

All are currently training and competing overseas.

Still fighting for a trip to London are athletes, Danni Alakija and Miriama Senokonoko with judoka, Sisilia Nasiga.
