Outgoing national football coach Christophe Gamel says there are some experiences in Fiji that he will never be able to erase.
Gamel, who has announced today that he is stepping down at the end of the month, was at times subject to criticism from certain sections of the footballing family.
The Frenchman says while he has achieved much during his tenure, it was also a challenge.
“People, they have really backed me up. We have shut up some critics that have been very bad and not real. Lot of attacks that I will never forget but we are clean and we have worked very well and as I said thanks Fiji to have given me this opportunity. I am very happy with what I have done.”
Gamel, who was appointed in December 2016, says he will be using the remaining days helping the Fiji Under-19 women’s and the men’s Olympic squads.
