Fiji Football Association Goalkeeping Developing Officer Lice Waqaliti stands by her role as she continues developing grassroots level of the sport.
Waqaliti who is the country’s first female license instructor has been keeping busy in her role, teaching youngsters and senior team members master their craft.
Currently conducting coaching sessions in seven districts, she is focused on grassroots upskilling, carrying out training exercises for Under10 girls and boys through to the men’s and women’s senior players.

While there is growing potential for goalkeeping in the country, Waqaliti says proper coaching is needed to harness their skills.
Her effective work can be seen on former Suva goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara who has won many local accolades including the Fiji FACT Golden Glove Award.
