Hosts Vanuatu have opened their FIFA International Friendly Tri-Nations series with a 2-0 win over their Pacific rivals Tahiti at Port Vila’s Korman Stadium last night.

The opening goal came courtesy of Jeffery Bob’s finish from a corner in the 22nd minute before Tony Kaltack made it 2-0 for the hosts from another corner in the 70th minute.

Vanuatu, Tahiti and Fiji are using the series as preparations for the upcoming Pacific Games in Samoa and as the matches are sanctioned by FIFA they will also count towards the teams’ rankings.
