Rewa stuns Nadi in IDC

October 9, 2019 7:57 pm

The Rewa football team stunned hosts Nadi with a two-nil win in the Courts IDC at Prince Charles Park.

The Delta Tigers, after a shock loss to Nasinu one-nil yesterday, came back firing from the first whistle and made sure the goal-scoring opportunities are turned into goals.

Gabiriele Matanasiga opened the account for Rewa in the 43rd minute, just before the half time whistle for a one-nil score at the breather.

The Delta Tigers did not give the hosts any room as they kept the tempo of the match and applied pressure resulting in Ratu Tevita Warainivalu’s goal in the sixth minute of the second half.

Nadi applied pressure and tried to come back into the match but they could not capitalise on the goal-scoring opportunities they had.

After Rewa’s win, this pool has become wide open as all four teams can qualify for the semifinals.
