Prasad set to debut for Fiji in FIFA International

Canadian-born Nicholas Prasad will make his debut for the Vodafone Fiji football side in the FIFA International Friendlies against New Caledonia next Monday.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says Prasad’s service will certainly boost the morale of the team.

Yusuf thanked the Fiji Immigration Department for their quick service as Prasad is now eligible to play for the country.

“He’s training very hard and will be part of the squad that we’ll play New Caledonia. I’d like to thank the government and the Director for Immigration for their quick service which is now making him eligible to play for Fiji where his heart lies.”

Prasad has played for Germany in the third division and is soon to sign an America’s MLS League Vancouver Whitecaps.

23-year-old Prasad whose father is from Suva and mum from Ba has obtained a Fijian citizenship.

Meanwhile, Roy Krishna is confirmed to join the team on Monday.

Krishna will feature for Wellington Phoenix on Sunday night against the Sydney Wanderers in the A-League.

Fiji plays New Caledonia at 7.30pm next Monday at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

They will then face Mauritius next Sunday at Churchill Park.
