NCC postponed due to measles outbreak - Fiji FA

The 2019 Vodafone National Club Championship which was scheduled to be played next week has been postponed.

Fiji Football Association Acting Chief Executive officer Amitesh Pal confirmed that the NCC has been postponed due to the measles outbreak in the country.

“The Health Ministry had earlier advised that Fijians should avoid all mass gatherings, where cross-infection between infected and unimmunized individuals can occur.”

Pal said they have taken in consideration the participation of two Navua clubs could be the risk as Navua is declared a red zone due the measles outbreak there.

Pal added Fiji FA very much regret the postponement, but was obliged to act on this advice in the public interest and safety of players.

“We sincerely apologise to the clubs and regret the inconvenience caused in the postponement of the tournament’, Pal said.
