Navua beat Lami in its Senior League

The Navua Football side defeated Lami 2-1 in their Vodafone Senior League clash at the Uprising artificial turf this afternoon.

The host team looked took a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime while the visitor, Lami was struggling to net its first goal.

The visitor managed to score their only goal in the second spell and the host’s defense was too strong for Lami to score another goal.

Fiji Football Association Vice President Jiten Reddy says playing at the international standard turf at Uprising made a huge difference compared to playing in the traditional playground.

“This kind of turf actually promotes us towards better and professional football where we hold possession. Possession is the key in any football match.”

Reddy says they plan to host more Premiership tournament at the turf in the future.

In other senior league matches today, Northland slammed Rakiraki 4-2, and Nadroga beat Tailevu 1-0.
