The Ministry of Youth and Sports Permanent Secretary Maretino Nemani has today raised concern on players tested drug positive in football.

Nemani says the Fiji Football Association has always been under spotlight regarding drug abuse.

The former sportsman himself, Nemani revealed it hurts to hear players using drug in football which is also tarnishing the image of the parent body in the country.

“I can only ask for them to be sincere about their investigation. If it has something to do with the players who use drugs, they should send them home and don’t bring them back into the sporting field. They are bad influence on children. Secondly, if the coach does something bad they should deal with it in the proper manner.”

Nemani says Fiji FA should take strict action on the players tested positive.

Meanwhile, if someone is tested positive in football, the parent body suspends the particular player for a month before they do a review.
