Mohammed says more overseas teams have expressed interest to join the tournament with Tupuji Majik, BT Boys and Kiribati national Futsal that took part in last month’s tournament.

“The whole idea behind this theme is to create awareness about how important women are not only in our homes but in the society as a whole and that they are part of us and not an inferior element.”

Nadeem says a couple of teams from Australia and New Zealand are in talks to travel.

The main tournament will feature 16 teams from the country and around the region.

The tournament will also include 8 women and 8 Veterans teams competing for a lucrative $5000 prize money.

The competition is scheduled to run through the 5th – 9th of September at the National hockey center in Suva.
