Lautoka wary of missing out on OFC quarter-final

February 14, 2019 12:47 pm

The Lautoka football side needs to do a lot of soul searching if they are to qualify for the OFC Champions League quarter-final this year.

Coach Kamal Swamy says they need to work on their defense and in the midfield area for the last pool match against Central Sports.

Swamy adds they also need to play for a full 90 minutes.

“Defensively we were shattered into pieces so we need to work on those lines, how we can keep our defense tight. It’s not only the defense, but it’s also the mid-field that we need to work on.”

Lautoka lost 6-5 to Henderson Eels at Churchill Park yesterday.

The side sits second on the points table and plays its pool leaders Tahiti’s Central Sports in the final match on Saturday.

They need to win with a better goal margin in-order to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Lautoka plays the Central Sports at 4pm on Saturday and you can catch a live commentary of the match on Radio Fiji TWO.
