Lautoka hopes to make winning start in OFC League

The Lautoka football side hopes to make a winning start when its takes on Morobe Wawens in the opening OFC Champions League match at Churchill Park on Sunday.

The Blues lost to Team Wellington in the away final 6-nil and then went down 4-3 at home last year.

Coach Kamal Swamy says they will take every game as a final and hope to grab maximum points in the pool matches.

“The first game is just like the final and we will treat it like a final and we’ll go to battle it out and get the maximum points. Every teams have prepared well for this tournament and much better teams are coming with better with better players and so we’ll have a tough battle.”

The other teams is Lautoka’s pool includes Central Sport of Tahiti and Henderson Eels of Solomon Islands.

They face Morobe Wanens at Lautoka’s Churchill Park at 3pm Sunday.
