Labasa thumps Nadi in VPL

The Labasa football side thumped Nadi 4-2 in the lone Vodafone Premier League match at Subrail Park today.

The Babasiga Lions took a 2-nil lead at half time after goals from Antonio Tuivuna and Siotame Kubu.

Nadi’s deadly striker Rusiate Matarerega scored two goals for the side, both from penalty kicks.

Kubu then got his double in the second half before Ashneel Raju extended the lead for the Labasa side.

The Northerners are locked on 7 points and are in the second spot on the VPL table with Ba leading the table with a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, in the matches tomorrow, Nasinu plays Tavua at Garvey Park at 3pm and at the same time Lautoka faces Rewa at Churchill Park.
