Fiji Football star and Wellington Phoenix star Roy Krishna has thanked all his fans after winning the Professional Footballers Australia player of the month award for January.

Krishna says he has also tried to impress his fans who have always come out in number to support him and the Phoenix team.

“Very grateful for the people who have voted for me but I like I said my main focus is on the team and hopefully they continue to vote this month as well. Looking forward to the game in the weekend and thank you to the people who have voted for me.”

Krishna credited coach Mark Rudan for helping him reach a new level, with the Fijian striker nailing 12 goals in 19 matches this campaign.

Wellington Phoenix plays Sydney FC at 6.35pm today.
