Suva football coach Intiaz Khan has resigned following their 2-1 loss over Labasa in the Vodafone Premier League this afternoon.

Khan told FBC Sports that the Suva Football officials were not happy with the side’s achievement under his leadership.

Khan says there were some differences between him and the team officials.

“It’s just a bit of differences and it’s not the first time it happened, it’s been happening for a while. It’s a blame game and I think I don’t deserve it. If the team wins the team wins, if the team loses the team loses. I’m the most affected here.”

However, Suva Football President Ritesh Pratap denied what Khan said saying there were no differences between them.

Pratap says they have accepted Khan’s decision of stepping down as coach.

“This is his own call. He has resigned and we received his resignation letter.”

Khan took over the coaching position with the Suva team in January this year.
