Former national football rep, Tora passes away

The Fiji Football Association board members and the entire football fraternity is in mourning.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel they are saddened to learn the death of former national team captain and Nadi rep Inosi Tora who passed away yesterday.

Patel says the highlight of his career was in 1985 when he captained and scored a goal against New Castle in match which Fiji won 3-0.

Tora started his career playing for Nadi in 1977 and helped Nadi win the first National Football League in 1978.

He joined national team in 1881 and played till 1988.

Patel acknowledged the supreme contribution by Tora in the football arena.

Former national midfielder Ronald Chaudhary says Tora was a stalwart defender and played for Nadi and

Fiji National team on numerous occasion.

Yusuf confirmed that Fiji FA together with the legends of 1980’s and the Vodafone National football team will present their requ-requ on Wednesday at 5.30pm at his village in Namotomoto.
